“Absolutely! All you have to do is sign a Declination to Act and the next successor trustee, who’s identified in the trust, will step up as trustee.
If there’s not another trustee identified, then the beneficiaries can nominate somebody or the court can appoint somebody new however; if you retain an attorney they can do most of the hard work for you and you just have to sign paperwork and things like that. It makes it a lot easier if you have an attorney. They can also prepare the declination if you choose.”
