SENIOR ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY

John Melvin is a Senior Associate Attorney at Antonyan Miranda, and a litigation trial attorney in Probate, Trust and Estate matters.

Since his admission to the State Bar of California in 2002, Mr. Melvin’s extensive litigation experience includes numerous trials in Southern California, and hundreds of mediations and depositions. Prior to focusing exclusively on complex and large estate trust and probate litigation, Mr. Melvin’s practice focused on high value real estate and business litigation, including a wide range of disputes as general counsel for several well-established companies. This experience provides Mr. Melvin with unique insight for clients with complex estates and trusts, particularly where the assets and risk profile include real estate holdings and business investments.

Mr. Melvin takes pride in endeavoring to protect and carry out the decedent’s wishes, even when such is threatened by unscrupulous family members, predatory actors, or imprecise estate documents. His cases commonly include esoteric evidence of financial misconduct, disputed medical testimony concerning cognitive capacity, and perennial family discord.

Mr. Melvin graduated with honors from Emory University in 1998. Mr. Melvin received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Cincinnati College of Law in 2002, where he was an Editor on Law Review, was elected Chief Justice of the Student Court, and was also a visiting student at the University of San Diego School of Law.
