“What is a trustee and how do you know if you are one? Well a trustee is in control of a trust. They manage the assets, they make sure the beneficiaries are communicated with, and they also distribute assets. The best way to make sure you’re doing this correctly is to retain an attorney.

The way you know that you are a trustee is 1) You either created a trust yourself and nominated yourself as the trustee 2) Someone else nominated you as the trustee of their trust and they let you know or 3) After someone passes you identify their trust and you look through it and you determine that you are identified as a successor trustee. Tt’s pretty simple.”
